i think u have to visit the doctor over there and have your eye’s checked, it is STREET RACING in the rawest class in sweden. this i our “dragrace”. we have some regular drag strips. but we arent (spelling) aloud to race on them so much as we would like to do, so we take the race to the street and have the highway closed for a couple cars and then move to another part of the highway or some sideways out to the country. so jet again this i raw streetracing from sweden.
just take a couple of cars have them park sideways over the highway and alot of people to block for the cops and other type of wheicles. it dangerous but this is the only way we could do it, the swedish goverment wont give us real dragstrips to race on or multi-speedway-arenas. so we take the race on the streets.
I think Sweden has more old American cars than any country outside north-america. Theres a huge culture surrounding them and swedish people has been importing large amounts of used cars for decades and still does.
They hold it so it can do a burnout and warm up the tires. The brakes on the car probably aren’t strong enough to hold it completely so they hang on to the car to give it alittle help.
the whole point behind doing a pre-race burnout is to warm the tires and give the tires something to grip on, cuz, lets face it, the highway isnt prepped for traction lol. so, they hold the car to keep the rubber where it needs to be, which is under the tires on launch
Its a big culture in Sweden, muscle cars that is, thou the younger kids nowadays like the serialbox kinda toys with lot of shit on the sides and so on, but American Muscle are still the number one in Sweden.
And as someone asked earlier on page 6 or 7, “are they racing for money?”:
No they are not, what i know of. But what I do know are that they are racing for “fastest street car in Sweden”
and also so the cars wont hit eachother and make a mess on the street, cos if that happen, the race pretty much over cos of the tight schedule, and if one of the cars cant compete any more.

ummmm how did u manage to lock down the whole highway strip?
April 14th, 2009 at 7:40 pm
well this is obviously not illegal considering the amount of people around and the entire highway closed for the evening.
April 18th, 2009 at 2:38 am

April 20th, 2009 at 7:04 am

i dont know much about street racing but i just wanted to know why they hold the car.

They also do it to keep the backend straight so the car doesn’t shoot the backend out from under it and head straight off the road
May 1st, 2009 at 4:03 pm
i think they hold it so it dosn’t go side to side to do a burnout don’t need brakes just step on the gas lol
